The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life.
The most important qualification for Team members is that they be hospitable people of faith and prayer who are willing to give of their time and talent to initiating new members into our faith community. Team members serve as catechists, ministers of hospitality, sponsors, facilitators of faith-sharing sessions, prayer coordinators and intercessors.
RCIA Team members are fully–initiated adults who are “companions for the journey” to those who are participants in the RCIA process.
Attendance at weekly catechetical sessions plus periodic facilitation of the Breaking Open God’s Word sessions. Team membership is generally one year. A new Team is formed and trained each summer.
