St. Barbara Church Offertory Contributions Alternative

Ministry of Martha Mary, image from ChristArt.comSt. Barbara Parish has made arrangements for parishioners to be able to make their regular offertory contributions to the parish by electronic funds transfer (“EFT”) from a designated bank account. EFT has been very successful for other parishes in the Greensburg Dioceses.

Why? EFT makes it easier to make your regular offertory contributions (weekly first collec- tion) even when you are out of town or on vacation. Additionally it is a safer and “greener” way to handle funds being donated to the church and provides a method of assisting the church in improving its budget.

If you chose the EFT option, your offertory contribution will be transferred from your account weekly on Fridays, or monthly on the 17th day of each month to the church’s account. You may stop these transfers at any time with your written authorization.

Sometimes people are concerned about giving their banking information. In reality, each time that you use a check somewhere, you are providing your banking information and a sample of your signature. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) fraud is rare in comparison to check fraud and it is a very secure way to transfer funds. St. Barbara Parish maintains all records with complete confidentiality.

Please consider this as a method of offertory contributions. Forms are available in the narthex, the parish office or on the website. Questions can be addressed to Jan, St. Barbara parish busi- ness manager. Sign up now as the next EFT process will be on April 15, 2011. However, you can begin the EFT process at any time. Don’t delay going green!
