“Your presence here makes all the difference”
We are the group of parishioners who works with the Diocese of Greensburg and St. Barbara Parish to pray and support those who are discerning a vocation to the priesthood, permanent Diaconate and consecrated life. Those who are called to married life and single life are remembered in prayer and supported in their unique roles of serving God and His Church.
The vocations committee works closely with the St. Barbara Knights of Columbus Council on efforts to promote vocations from our parish. The Elijah's Cup is a joint effort that has families in the parish praying for vocations with a chalice that will be given to the first man who is ordained a priest from St. Barbara Parish.
The vocation committee focuses on prayer, especially celebrating The Eucharist and The Holy Rosary, to help all people accept their call from God with a joyful heart.
We meet one time per month for 2 hours to pray our Family Rosary for Vocations and to meet and discuss how to more effectively work together on promoting vocations. Also it is a goal to foster an environment in the parish and in our families that is open to accepting a vocation in which God calls all his people.
