The Thanksgiving Outreach is an annual event, which occurs on the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day. It involves many volunteers from the St. Barbara Parish Family, to plan, prepare and deliver homemade Thanksgiving meals, with all the trimmings, to the homes of over 100 parishioners.
Volunteers can help in a variety of ways that include, donating food items, roasting and carving turkeys, chopping, slicing and dicing vegetables, making stuffing, gravy, and mashed potatoes, baking pies, packaging and delivering meals.
The satisfaction gained from spending your time and talent on the Thanksgiving Outreach Project is immeasurable.
One or two planning meetings required for committee leads. Watch for signups in the bulletin and on this website approximately 6 weeks prior to the event date. Time commitments range from 1 hour to 1 day of work per year.
The Thanksgiving Outreach Program begins with food preparation the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving Day, with meal delivery on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
