The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic Lay Organization in the world with almost 2 million members in over 14,000 Councils around the world. Membership is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. St Barbara's Council Number 14078 consists of 60 members.
The Knights support the Holy father, the Church, and the Community. They are committed to the exemplification of charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism, and defense of the priesthood. They build fraternal bonds through social, religious, educational, and athletic activities, and can provide financial security for deceased member's families.
Two education scholarships of $500 each for qualifying graduating high school seniors in the Class of 2012 will be awarded this year.

Membership meets once each month (1 - 2 hours), on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except for November (depends on Thanksgiving Holiday). There is no meeting in December.
Time commitment depends on member's involvement in activities, offices, and personal interests.
